May Goals Recap

I'm pretty satisfied with everything I got accomplished this month!

I really need to get better at cooking myself meals. I go through spurts where I will cook lots of awesome meals but right now I am in a total rut. I think it might have something to do with the swaps. All I wanted to do when I got home was work on these projects. Cooking seemed like such a waste of time. I've just been eating lots of pasta, soup, mac & cheese, nothing exciting. Do you have any awesome easy and cheap recipes? Or do you follow any foodie blogs? I think I only follow one but it's all desserts, I need more meals!

Also, May freaking FLEW by!!

List 18

This list is SUCH perfect timing!

As you read this Jeremy and I already left this morning for North Springfield, PA. Totally random sounding, I know. It is right on Lake Erie and we are staying at Virginia's Beach campground. It is a 6 1/2 hour drive but it will be totally worth it! Look at this quote from their site "Because our shoreline faces the northwest we have an incredible view of the sunset. Rated #2 behind Hawaii by National Geographic!" I mean that's pretty freaking awesome! Our campsite is right in the woods and pretty secluded from other people. Jeremy keeps refering to this trip as "Our Lover's Retreat", he's so goofy sometimes!

We went on one other road trip together 2 years ago that lasted 8 days. We went out to Cleveland, down to Nasvhille and Memphis, through Mississippi to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, over to South Carolina and back to PA. It was amazing and we had so much fun together. I love being in the car with him. We sing and dance and act like total fools. Last time we brought Uncle John's Bathroom Reader: Plunges into History We would read to each other for a while and learn all kinds of cool stuff. He has another one we are bringing this trip.

One of the days we will be taking a mini road trip into Ohio to go to Cedar Point amusement park. That will be about a two hour drive but we have no other plans for that day and we both love a good roller coaster!

I am super duper excited, we planned this about a month and half ago and it has taken forever to get here! I won't be home until Monday and posting until Tuesday so I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and if you are in the states a happy long Memorial Day weekend!

CAMP ON!

Another Book Review: Bossypants

This month's Book Club book was Bossypants by Tina Fey. I don't think I ever watched SNL when she was on it and I've never watched 30 Rock. Not on purpose or anything, I just never have. I did see 'Date Night' though with Steve Carell and thought it was pretty funny. Of course I also saw a lot of her Sarah Palin impressions when that was going on.

This book was flat out HILARIOUS. I laid in bed the last two nights reading this book and was laughing hysterically. Yes, I read this book in two nights. She just has a really great sense of humor, bitchy, straight forward, self-deprecating, raunchy, and all my favorite kinds of humor! I was never one of those "drama kids" in school. I was in two plays but that was just something to do after school. My friends and I weren't those kids whose whole life is acting and they want to be on Broadway or go to Hollywood and what not. It seems like Tina was definitely that kind of kid. It was cool to see how she took things she learned from acting camp and improv to help her in other aspects of life.

I've never identified myself as a Feminist. I mean I'm pretty sure I have quite a few qualities and beliefs that my fellow woman has but I never labeled myself. I've never been big on labels, it's too much pressure. I really enjoyed reading her take on motherhood, being a working mom and what it is like being a woman in a man's world especially career wise. It was really awesome actually.

I highly recommend this book. It was a light, funny read but also pretty inspiring. I am now a huge Tina Fey fan!

Happy Thursday my darlings!

Book Review: The Sea-Hawk

The Sea-Hawk by Rafael Sabatini was last months Book Club book. I finally finished it Sunday night (yeah 3 weeks late) and I really loved it! It's about a man, Sir Oliver who is accused of killing his girlfriend's brother. He is actually covering for his own brother, Lionel who was the murderer. Lionel has Oliver kidnapped and enslaved on a ship. While a slave on this Spanish ship, Oliver becomes a Muslim. His ship is raided by Barbary pirates, they free him from being a slave because he is now Muslim like them and he becomes a pirate. Years later he goes back and kidnaps his girlfriend to only find out that she is now married to his brother!
The book was written in 1915 so you can imagine the language is quite a bit different than modern novels.

"Sakr-el-Bahr (this is Sir Oliver's new name), scimitar in hand, stood on the prow, a little in advance of the mob of eager babbling corsairs who surrounded him, quivering in their impatience to be let loose upon the Christian foe. Above, along the yardarm and up the ratlines swarmed his bowmen. From the mast-head floated out his standard, of crimson charged with a green crescent."

This book was really exciting and everything you would expect from a Pirate novel. Lots of fighting at sea, slaves, kidnapping, Muslims vs. Christians, etc. In the beginning it was a little hard to get used to the language and I didn't know all the words that were being used. I just looked up the words (corsair for example is just another word for pirate) and let myself be taken into this pirate world! All in all I really loved this book!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Side Note...

I got a massive amount of tattooing done yesterday (well massive to me anyway)! It is a rib piece and we are half way done. I feel slightly awkward posting this pictute because you can see a lot of my body but it is the best one without a lot of side boob action! It's still really red here, I mean this is like 3 minutes after we stopped!

So far I have a tree, a huge great horned owl on a branch who's eyes I am in love with (the photo does not do it justice), the moon and some bats. It's badass! There is really no other way of explaing it =D You can't really see the moon in this picture, it's sort of on my back and with how red I am it didn't photograph too well.
I have other tattoos but they are all small. I have a celtic knot on my upper back, a fleur de lis on my wrist and a shamrock on my ankle. I was entirely prepared for this to be pure torture and it pretty much was. There was one point that I thought I was going to fall asleep though! Jesse (my tattoo artist) was in the zone, metal was on the radio and I was just so relaxed!
I sat for 2 1/2 hours and both Jesse and another guy in the shop were impressed with how I "sat like a champ" LOL and that I never asked for a break. We did take one break so Jesse could eat some lunch though. They were so nice too because I was laying there with only my shirt covering my boobs so they put a big screen up around us so that no one else could see me. At first I felt bad to jam up their shop like that but then after everyone came in to work there were about 6 other dudes in the shop and a lot of customers coming and going, I would have felt SO uncomfortable.

I also was so happy with how stoked Jesse is about this tattoo. He does a lot of dark, evil shit and biomechanical stuff (seen here) so I was afraid he might think an owl, night, graveyard scene was a little lame. Turns out he loves owls so...he was very psyched!
My next appointment to finish it isn't until September because he is all booked up but he said after a month when this is healed, if he gets any openings he will call me. Last night he was already sending me ideas for how to finish it! I have been waiting 4 years to get this done and now that it is finally happening, I am so happy! To have an artist who is so into it too is really making this experience all the better!!

Introducing...

I've been inspired by a number of posts I've read recently to introduce you all to Jeremy. I mention him constantly and I thought maybe you guys would like a little info on how we met and became Us.

We met through a mutual friend. Jeremy and Bryan worked together and Bryan and I were friends. Friday October 3rd, 2008 (yeah, I know the exact day) Bryan was coming over with a friend of his visiting from North Carolina. We had no real plans other than just hang out on the deck with my sister Jessie and drink. Earlier in the day Bryan texted me to ask if he could also bring a friend from work over. I told him of course because anyone he is friends with is probably awesome.

I still remember when Jeremy walked in the door, he was so cute. Tall, dark and handsome! He had on a Famous hoodie with the hood up, a cruded up pair of jeans and sneakers. It may be weird but...I love when guys are dirty. Like construction workers, roofers, mechanics, I don't care. There's something so manly about a guy covered in dirt! He is a machinist so he gets pretty dirty at work.

We ended up sitting on my porch the entire night talking about horror movies. Literally, like 6 hours talking about any and every horror movie. It was fantastic and I was completely smitten <3

The next night Jessie and I had plans to go to a haunted house with Bryan and his girlfriend to start off the Halloween season. During the day I texted Bryan and told him he should invite Jeremy. So that night the 5 of us piled in Jessie's car and drove up to the haunted house. This was only a few months after my accident and I was still supposed to be using crutches. I didn't want to be "that girl with crutches" though so I just hobbled around the whole place. I couldn't walk very fast and Jeremy hung back with me so I wasn't alone. Eventually I had a really hard time walking anymore so he gave me a piggy back ride. First he dropped me which I still bring up because it's hilarious that he dropped a crippled girl! But then he carried me all around the rest of the night. Afterward we ended up at Bryan's house just hanging out and Jeremy asked for my number!!

That Sunday Bryan was at our apartment. He came over almost every Sunday, he would bring us hoagies and we would just veg out and watch tv. Like I said, this was right after my accident and we partied in our apartment pretty much every weekend. Sundays were days to recooperate. I didn't ever care if I wasn't showered or just in pajamas in front of Bryan, he was just Bryan. I wasn't trying to impress him and he certainly didn't care. So here we are all about to chow down on these hoagies and Bryan asks if it is ok that he invited Jeremy over. I of course perked up, said yes and asked when he would be coming. Bryan said in about 20 minutes. I freaked out!! I tried to quickly shower, put on my face and dry my hair all before he got there. This is clearly an impossible task and I ended up trying to walk out of my room all nonchalant when he was already there, doh!

Over the next few weeks we were practically attached at the hips. He worked third shift, 2pm - 10pm and I worked 8am - 5pm. After I got out of work I would go home, nap, wake up, shower and hang out with him after he was out of work. We hung out at the bar down the street and played pool, watched movies or tv, went out to eat, etc. It was fantastic and needless to say, we grew closer every day. We also went on a road trip together that February. Everyone said we were nuts to be stuck in a car with a person we had only been dating 5 months. Those people were all wrong because we had an amazing time and even better memories of it!!

I am the luckiest girl alive. He is my rock, my lil' lover face, my everything. I am a better person when I am with him and he encourages and supports me in anything I do. He spoils me rotten and he is my best friend (next to Liz of course). I can not imagine being as happy as I am now and so madly in love with someone.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of us over the years...

This is the first picture taken of us. That's me, Jeremy and Bryan (making a lovely face) while playing drinking games in Bryan's basement.

Here we are on our road trip at the New Orleans Aquarium the day after Mardi Gras.

Dancing at my dear friend Katie & Scott's wedding. Jeremy is an AWESOME dancer, it's one of my favorite things about him!

Halloween 2 years ago. Liz made her own Dinosaur costume, I was Little Dead Riding Hood and Jeremy was Waldo.

Us floating down the Delaware River last summer.

This is my all time favorite picture of the two of us. We were in a Karaoke Bar at the Tropicana in Atlantic City for Kristin's birthday last July. I don't know why but sometimes he hugs me and puts all his weight on me until I start collapsing...this is what is happening here. I just love our faces though!

I had to restrain myself from posting more pictures. I have a knack for getting Jeremy to stick is head in things or put things on his head and letting me take pictures of him. He would NOT be a happy camper if I posted all those on here though!
Anyway, I hope you liked seeing a bit more about my other half. Have a great day my dears!

3 Years Ago Today...

(Warning: I am not the greatest or most eloquent writer but I tried. Also this is the Longest. Post. EVER.)

So I've mentioned it a few times in passing but...3 years ago today I was in a car accident. I know people have been in worse ones but it completely changed my life and I can honestly say it has been for the better. I mean some stuff still sucks, the experience itself sucked, but my outlook on life is much better.

Here's what happened...
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. I was hanging out with some friends, Kevin and Porn (his real name is Dan, but we call him Porn). Porn needed a new pedal or something for his bike and they didn't have it at the local bike shop. We all piled in my car and drove to a different bike shop in the next town over.
At this point my sister and I were sharing an apartment and had planned on having a party that night. No special occasion but I was in charge of picking up the keg. We left the bike shop and headed to the beer distributor. I had no idea where I was.

I have lived in PA for 5 years now and still hardly know where anything is if it isn't near where I have or do live and work. At that point, it was even worse!
We drove a back way from Bethlehem to Allentown and I just followed the directions they were giving me. We came to a stop sign and Porn told me to make a left. Kevin said "No, I don't like that intersection, go right." So I went right. We came to another stop sign and I had to make a left. There was no one coming from the right and when I looked to the left, that car was turning onto the street I was on. So I made a left.
There was another car behind that one that sort of went around the turning car and plowed right into me. Total T-Bone. I never saw that car until it was about a foot to the left of me. I saw Kevin curl up into a ball and everything went in slow motion.

I always thought that was bullshit in movies but it's not. Everything literally went in slow motion. Probably because I got hit square in the face with the air bag.
I came to and realized my car was spinning so I slammed on the brakes but I don't think it did anything. At some point I also realized that my car door was being smashed in on me so I put my left hand on the door as it was coming in at me, my right hand on the center console and lifted myself up. I didn't have my seat belt on. If I had my seat belt on...well...I'll get to that in a minute.

Once the car stopped I heard Porn in the back seat moaning and I was crying and saying over and over "I can't believe this happened, Oh my God, I can't believe this happened." I looked in the rear view mirror, since I was holding myself practically up in the air it was right in front of my face and saw blood was pouring down my face. That's when it hit me that this had really happened. I started crying and screaming for Kevin to get me out of the car. He got out, ran around to my side and tried prying the door open but no dice, it was completely smashed in. Then I wanted to try and crawl out through the passenger door. That is when I realized by left foot was smashed under the door and totally stuck. Again I screamed and Kevin came and helped me yank my foot out. Once my foot was out I tried again to crawl over the console and had the most excrutiating pain shoot through my back and down my legs. Something was very wrong, I was fucked and knew I had to wait for the cops to show up.

So here I am waiting for someone to come help me. I was stuck in the car, holding myself up because the car door was so far in that there was no seat for me to sit on. I noticed all these people lingering around and looking in the car at me. I asked the first few if they were in the other car and they all said no. Turns out across the street is a park and all these assholes came to stare at me. I started cursing at them and they stood back. Then the fire engines and ambulances and cops showed up.

They asked me my name and birthday about 100 times. They told me they were going to have to cut the door off with the "jaws of life" so this kid, I swear he was younger than me gets in the passenger side and puts a blanket over me to cover the flying glass and metal. I was in so much pain at this point, I kept holding onto him for dear life and crying. His name was Matt but I kept calling him Sir for some reason, and telling him I was so sorry for crying and screaming in his ear and all he kept saying was "It's ok, everything will be ok". I don't know when but they put one of those stupid neck braces on me and once the door was off they somehow got this wooden board behind me before they lifted me out of the car. I was crying and in so much pain, all I wanted was to go home.

Here is what my car looked like...

See how there was no where for me to sit!

So now I'm in the ambulance with these 3 guys, all around my age who start poking me, sticking needles in me AND THEN cutting my clothes off!! I looked right at the guy cutting my pants off and said "I'd like to at least know your name before you see me totally naked!!" They all laughed and he told me his name was Alexander. Somehow, through all this shit I kept my sense of humor.

I get to the emergency room. Again, everyone asks my name and birthday a million times. The entire time since I was removed from the car I was laying on my right side. Anytime I tried to roll flat on my back, I had blinding pain. These ER people are pushing me and poking me and God only knows what else and all I keep saying is "Fuck, Fuck, Fuck" because anytime I was slightly moved, pain jolted through my body. This bitch of a nurse looks at me and says "Can you watch your mouth please?" I snapped back "Can you shut YOUR mouth please?!" Man I can be a jerk!
Anyway...then this doctor sticks his finger up my butt to make sure I wasn't bleeding internally. No warning or anything, just BAM finger in the butt!! I yelled right at him "Haven't I been through enough!?" He giggled.

I don't remember a whole lot after that because they began dopeing me up. I know I was just in the hallway of the hospital waiting to get a CAT scan and other crap when all of a sudden, my sister runs past me! I hear her come to a hault and run back at me. She instantly starts crying and freaking out that I'm just in the hallway.
At some point I was moved to a tiny room, again waiting for tests and a cop comes in. This guy is basically interogating me to see if I was on my cell phone (I was not) or if I had been drinking or doing drugs that day (I had not) and then he writes me a ticket for not having my seat belt on! As he is writing this ticket he says "You're lucky you didn't have it on though, you would have been decapitated." Totally nonchalant like he was giving me the weather report. My sister told him he was an asshole and to hurry up and get the fuck out. Us Toohey's don't give a shit man!! LOL
Anyway...I got a bunch of tests done and was put in ICU. All in all I had broken my pelvis in 3 places, broke my ankle and "degloved" my heel. This last part they didn't realize until after they went in to fix my ankle. My heel basically flipped inside out but didn't break the skin. My eye was also jacked up but I didn't have any serious injuries to my face. Which I was very concerned about (vain).
I was in ICU for 2 days and had amazing male nurse, Kelly. He tucked me in just like my Dad used to when I was little and covered me in about a billion blankets because I was so cold.

Tuesday I had surgery to put an External Fixator on my hips. I was so doped up for those 8 days, I hardly remember anything. I know I had a lot of visitors and phone calls. I know I had a little button I could push every 15 minutes to injec
t myself with morphine and just stared at the clock counting down the minutes. I was woken up multiple times of the night to give blood and started calling the nurses vampires.
It sucked. A lot.

This is a close up of the external fixator.

The following Sunday I was moved to Good Shephard Rehab. The first thing I remember is that as soon as I was in a room a nurse asked me what time the nurses at the hospital had changed my dressings. I had no idea what she was talking about. Again she asked, what time did they change my bandages. I told her they've never been changed. The look that came across her face scared the shit out of me. Without a word, she walked right out of the room and came back with another nurse and 2 doctors. Where the external fixator was attached to my hips there were open wounds. Three of them. Apparently these bandages were supposed to be changed 3 times a day. The nurses at the hospital did not change them once, not once in the 6 days those wounds were there!! They were so painful and almost itchy but I didn't think twice about it. Come to find out this was because the gauze was all dried out and poking my open wounds. Gross! The doctors and nurses told me that I could have had a staff infection so they had to take my blood to make sure I didn't. I also heard the other nurse saying that the hospital I was in "was a disgrace" WHOA!

Anyway...I ended up doing occupational and physical therapy there. The women who work at that rehab center are literally angels on Earth. I have such a respect for nurses after going through that because what those women had to do for me and the other patients there, I don't even know if I could do for loved ones. It was amazing. One example of their amazingness, a nurse on her lunch helped me take a shower. The only time I had taken a shower since the day of my accident. I mean she did this on her own free time because she knew how much better it would make me feel!!
I was there for 8 days and then went home.

I was so excited to be going home...until I was actually there. I realized I would now be living at home in a wheel chair and I burst into tears. I hadn't actually felt sorry for myself yet or fully realized the situation, I had just been going through the motions.
In order to take a shower, my mother or sister had to help me in and out. Totally changed those relationships!! I had to sit on a chair in the shower. I had to sleep in a hospital bed. I had to use the bathroom with a special attachment because the real toilet was too low. I had to change my bandages 3 times a day. I had to sleep flat on my back, no rolling over, no laying on my side. My arms constantly fell asleep at night because I didn't move. I was constantly in pain. All in all it sucked.
But thank God for family and friends. I only got through those months because of my family and friends. My sister waited on me hand and foot. My mother would leave work to bring me food and do my laundry. Kevin's brother left me his play station so I could play Guitar Hero all day. My Dad drove from work (1 1/2 hrs) at least once a week to visit me. All my friends came to our apartment every weekend to party since I couldn't leave the house. My neighbor and sister's boyfriend carried me out of the house in my wheelchair, put me in Liz's car so she could take me to see fireworks on the 4th of July. The first time I had been outside since I went home from rehab.
July 7th I got the external fixator removed. The job I had previous to this I was only a temp, no insurance or anything. I had been seeing all the hospital, doctor and rehab bills. I opted to have this thing removed from my hips in the doctors office, no surgery, no anesthesia, nothing so that it would be cheaper. It was pure torture, some Saw movie shit. The doctor had to literally use a wrench to unscrew these GIANT screws from my hips bones. I screamed bloody murder which I'm pretty sure terrified all the other patients, I bled all over the doctor and that little room and if I had to do it again, I would have gone to the hospital.
At the end of July I had a nurse come to my house who did exercises with me and helped me start walking again. I had to use a walker for a while but by the end of September I was on crutches. The beginning of October I was back to work part time and going to a rehab place for exercise and what not twice a week. That's right about the time I met Jeremy (I met him Friday October 3rd, I went back to work that Monday). I was constantly in pain because I still had a giant screw in my back. It was inserted on my left side and holding the main break at the back of my pelvis together. The bad thing is that it went right across a joint so I always had shooting pains if I moved a certain way. I had it removed that December though.

I still have a screw in my ankle. And tons of scars. At first I was very self concious of these giant purple scars all over my hips and foot. Now I don't care so much.
There were times that I cried myself to sleep and wallowed in self pity. I couldn't walk, had no money, was a burden on everyone I loved and was in pain 24 hours a day. There were also times that I marveled at how blessed I am. How lucky I am to have a sister, mother and father who literally bent over backwards for me. I have friends who drove hours just to sit with me or take me outside. I have friends who spent every weekend of that summer in my house and buying me beer and cigarettes.
Before this accident, I pretty much took everything for granted. Not on purpose or because I was a self centered bitch. I think it was just because I never took the time to slow down and really look at my life. To really look at who and what I have.
Every day I am reminded of that accident. Every night when I wake up and have to roll over because my back hurts. Every morning in the shower and when I get dressed and see these scars, I remember everything.
I am fully aware now that I only have this one life. I only get one shot to be happy and live a wonderful life. I don't let any drama or nonsense take over my life. I do what I love and with who I love. I am extremely lucky to be walking or even alive. I will not take this life and the people who love me and who I love for granted ever again!

You shouldn't either!

Have a good day lovies!

Cross Stitch Surprise Received!

Hi all!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Mine was awesome, Jeremy took me for Hibachi and to see 'Insidious' on Saturday night. That movie scared the ever loving crap out of me, I screamed out loud multiple times!!

Also, before we left I checked my mail and had this wonderful package waiting for me! I am so, so thrilled with this whole Swap-Bot experience. I will most definitely be doing it again!
So...like I mentioned before, this swap was a surprise and totally up to the sender so she picked these ideas from what I put in my profile. She went with the Halloween theme.
This first one is so adorable! I couldn't get them to show up in the picture but there are tiny red beads for eyes on the spider!!

These stacked pumpkins are so adorable!

Last but not least, she sent me an extra!! A crow perched on a sheep and it is my absolute favorite! All the designs the stitches make are awesome!!

I am so happy that these two fit perfectly in some of the frames I picked up at the VNA sale last weekend!! I am going to pick up a tiny embroidery hoop for the ghost.

My partner completely spoiled me and I am now officially in love with Swap-Bot!

In other swap news, I am more than half way done with my Craftster granny square swap which I am super happy about. I tend to leave things to the last minute but I started these squares right away. I think I'll even be sending fairly early, woot!
Have a great Monday my dears!

Cross Stitch Surprise

Hi Friends!

I feel like I have been so busy the last 2 weeks! I had to take my licensing class (during work, thank goodness) and then study so I could pass my test Tuesday, WOOT!
I had signed up for my first Swap-Bot swap last month and I sent out Monday. The swap was only for 2 small cross stitched pieces both for the same partner but are a surprise and totally up to the sender! This was slightly stressful for me because "What if my partnter doesn't like it?!" And I mean there's no theme or guideline or anything, it just had to be no smaller than approx. 2.5 X 3.5cm and no larger than 3.5 X 5.5cm and no frames or attaching it to anything.
I must have read my partners profile a dozen times before I decided what I would stich for her. First off she said one of her favorite colors is lime green. In one of my cross stitch books, there is a pattern that the author found on a dress in Palestine. I really liked it so I changed the colors but made sure lime green was in there. Then I decided on a monogram...because who doesn't love a monogram?! I love this pattern I found with the leaves. It totally reminds me of the big letters in the beinning of a fairy tale book!

I also didn't realize til yesterday that the partner I send to is not the partner sending to me! I'm so used to Craftster where you and your partner craft for each other. I like this way too though because it's a chance to meet even more people!

I've also been crocheting like a mad woman! I have to make 30 granny squares, 6 squares for 5 different partners as part of the Ga Ga for Granny Squares Craftster swap. These squares are 7 inches which is bigger than the ones I've been making myself. I love watching the giant stack of these ones building up! So far I have 10 done and 5 more are half way finished. I don't have to send out until June 6th but at this rate, I think I'll be ready to send much sooner!

I hope that you are all having a lovely day!

Thirft Haul

Saturday I went to the VNA Sale in Jersey. It is right near the town I went to high school in, they have it twice a year and I have gone almost every year since I was in high school. All the proceeds go to the Visiting Nurse Association and there are sooo many goodies!

I was actually really good this year and made sure to just focus on what I knew I wanted and didn't buy any random stuff that I don't have room for in my apartment or will just end up in a drawer. I also didn't go into the movie tent. There was a huge wait and I was pooped from walking all over already.
I did get some pretty stuff though!

I have a huge love for tiny, round and oval picture frames. I have absolutely no idea why but I just can't pass them up! I also got 4 tiny little handmade doilys and I know exactly what I am going to do with them! There were so many handmade things being sold that it made me a little sad. I got to thinking about all the stuff I have and will be making people over the years, I hope none of it ever ends up at a Rummage Sale =(

I got some sweet Aida fabric which I can always find a use for!

I found these amazing embroidery books, a lot of the stuff in them are for 70's-ish folk art stuff which I looove!! There are so many things in these books I want to make!

I love all things Egyptian and I could not pass up this fabric. It's only a yard and I have no idea what I will do with it but it's so pretty!!

And my favoite score for the day is this book "A Pictoral History of Horror Movies"!! It is in amazing shape, only a few tears on the cover at the bottom of the binding but everything else is perfect. There are so many sweet movie posters in color and then all kinds of behind the scenes black and white photos and what not. I love it!

I also got some cardigans and shirts but they are in the hamper at the moment.
So this is everything I got, I'm totally satisified and can't wait for the October Sale, hehe!!

Have a great day everyone! I am taking my Sales Licensing test at 11:00am and I am sooo nervous!!

Granny's Galore!

Are you ready for more squares?! I'm so happy with how fast I hooked these ones up. Again I made another batch of 12 more for a total of 60. I only need 28 more before I can start sewing them all together!! I'll be taking a break from these for a little bit because I am in a Granny Square swap over on Craftster. Send out date is the end of this month so after I sew all the squares I receive from my partners into a little lap afghan for work (they love to keep our office at subzero temperatures) I will get back to this big one. Just in time for summer, ha!

For my new friends, you can see the other batches here.
