Prompt 19

Journal Prompt 19: Today I want you to create a "guide to your city." What are the must-see things that you would want a visitor to experience in your city. This can guide can be for your city, town, or state. I am really excited to see these and to maybe even use them in my future when traveling!! Have fun with this!!!

I didn't really have fun with this one. I live in Allentown, PA and have been here for 4 years. There isn't a whole lot to do specifically in Allentown but these are the 3 things I would bring someone to if they visited me. In hindsight I maybe should have just done the fun stuff outside of Allentown but that I would bring someone to if they visited, oh well!

Prompt 18

Journal Prompt 18: Today I want you to create a playlist of some kind. It can be your summer playlist, your July playlist, songs from your wedding day, or favorite songs of all time :) This one will be another fun one to look at down the road :)

So music is a huge part of my life. I listen to music almost all day now. I listen to my Pandora radio through my phone while I'm at work, I crank the radio or CDs whenever I'm in the car and when I'm home I listen to my iPod through this sweet little speaker thing I recently got. I'm obsessed with the Pandora radio that I can listen to through my Blackberry now, so this is a list of my favorite stations I have on there.

What the hell year is it?!

A lady who sits near me at work saw me looking at vintage pyrex online one day (yes, I work very hard). She recently moved or is renovating her kitchen or something and found this old dish and thought of me. Isn't that so nice?! She brought it in for my yesterday! I've been scrubbing it for what feels like hours because it's all kinds of dirty with god knows what baked onto it and it's still got crud on it! Anyone have a good tip to wash pyrex?!
It's a little more 70's than I usually like but hey, free vintage pyrex is still awesome!
I put it on the stove when I was organizing my cabinets to find a spot for it and literally laughed out loud looking at it next to my two pots I got at the VNA Sale this past May. I agree that these pots are pretty 70's ish too but how often do you see pots with designs on them?! It was $11 for the set, a steal I think!

You can also see my amazing wall paper in the background, this picture cracks me up! It looks like something that should be in a Sears & Roebuck catalog!!

Here is a close up of the outstanding flower designs just so you can fully appreciate them.

Jacob the Jellyfish

I bought the Jacob the Jellyfish pattern last week from EssHaych's etsy shop and I finally finished him tonight.
He's so cute and I can tell he already loves his new home hanging from my bathroom ceiling!

He matches the colors and theme I have going on in the bathroom. I'm going to make him a friend to hang around with that will be mostly yellow and some of the purple color.
The colors and theme are all based around my shower curtain which I made out of Heather Ross' "Kelp Forest" in Plum fabric.

It's such beautiful fabric (I want to make a skirt out of what's left) and I love that it's a sea theme but minus any fish or dolphins. I don't really like that fish/dolphin thing and I'm pretty sure that's only acceptable in a beach house or my father's house, haha!
When I look at the pictures of the original Jacob, the ruffles around the bottom are different. They look like they're up farther or something. I might have to go back and sew those ruffles up a bit, we'll see.
For now I love him!

Prompt 17

Journal Prompt 17: Today you are going to illustrate a day. It can be today, it can be yesterday, it can be a significant event that you have had in your life :) Use pictures, labels, words, doodle, sketches, anything you want, to describe your day! This is a cute one. Enjoy!

I drew the day of my Suprise Birthday party that Jeremy threw for me last year. It was absolutely amazing and I was completely suprised. We were supposed to be going to the Eastern State Penitentiary but as I was getting ready, Jeremy told me that Bryan's car had broken down and we had to go pick him up first. When we got to where his car was broken down, I didn't even recognize all the cars that were there and was so caught up in all the Halloween decorations hanging around. When we got down by the river, Jason and Liz both popped out and I was so confused. Finally I was told it was my suprise birthday party and that all my friends would be showing up for a bonfire, beer pong and just regular shenanigans and that we were camping out. It was by far the best Birthday I've ever had and I am the luckiest girl in the whole world to have such an amazing boyfriend to plan something like that for me!!

Prompt 16

Journal Prompt 16: Short, sweet, and straight to the point :) What are you wearing today? Write it, doodle it, cut it out of a magazine, whatever!

This was easy because I had on such a simple comfy outfit today. My favorite thing is my Karen Cooper necklace!!

Tomatoes!!

A few months ago I bought myself a Topsy Turvy with the intention to grow myself tomatoes. I loooove tomatoes, I seriously try to put them in everything I eat. When I first bought it, it was too early to plant but I did anyway because I didn't even think about the weather, I just wanted tomatoes =/
Jessie gave me a tomato plant that she grew and I hung the little guy outside. Well, then we had some frosts and it died. Needless to say, Jessie was pissed and so was I.
Last month my mom gave me two topsy turvys with plants in them and I gave her my dead one. One of the plants started out really well and is now bloomin' away. The other one however, died too.
I've been checking every day to see how the tomatoes are doing. I had 2 green ones for what feels life forever...but as of yesterday, there are more!!

Here are the original tomatoes, aren't they cute?!

These are the new babies!!

As I was walking out onto the fire escape, I saw the other topsy turvy that's been dead had leaves popping out the top!! (Yes, I let a dead topsy turvy hang out there like some kind of corpse!)

I looked inside hoping it'd be more tomatoes but I can't tell if the leaves are the same as the tomato ones or if it's just weeds. I guess all the rain has kept this one going even though I haven't watered it since it died. I'm going to start to water and feed this one and see what happens.

I can't wait til the tomatoes are ripe and red and I can eat them!
