7 Things about Me!

The beautiful Sarah from Atlantic Atlantis tagged me in a fun little game, to share 7 random facts about myself.
I hope I can think of some good ones!

1. I have a TON of freckles. Big ones, little ones, light ones, dark ones, all kinds! When I was younger, I hated them so much that I tried bleaching the ones on my arms with lemon juice! Totally stupid but I felt like such a weirdo with spots all over myself. I have two right by my mouth that I hated the most. People always joked that I had dirt on my face (real hilarious). Now I don't even notice them and I love the ones by my mouth because they are beauty marks and really...who doesn't love a beauty mark!?

2. Jeremy and I just planned a trip yesterday to go camping on Lake Erie over Memorial Day weekend. I can't wait!!

3. I don't have tv. I have A tv but not cable or rabbit ears or anything. I live on Netflix and my collection on VHS and DVDs.

4. I also don't have a microwave. I don't miss it at all, anything I ever used a microwave for I can do on the stove.

5. I can jiggle my eyes back and forth really, really fast. I used to do it all the time when I was little to freak people out. My sister, Mom and some of my Aunts can do it too. It's not so easy now since I wear contacts pretty much everyday though but if they aren't in, it's a piece of cake!

6. I know an alarmingly large amount of information about serial killers. When I was in high school I read all kinds of books about different ones and even had a favorite guy (yes, that's psychotic) but a few years ago I got rid of them all. Knowing all that stuff, I am now extremely paranoid about being murdered!

7. Because of the above fact, I much prefer living in the hood to living in the country. People in the hood just shoot you if you cross them, in the country someone will tie you up and keep you in their basement for years!

So...those are my random facts! Now I have to tag a few lovely bloggers...

There will be Holes in Everything!

A while ago (I don't even remember when but I know it was 3 seats before where I sit at work now so it was a while) I saw this feature on Mr. X Stitch and was completely blown away.
After that, it was always in the back of my head that I wanted to cross stitch on metal or wood or anything random really. So as I've mentioned before, I've been feeling in a bit of a funk and I just want to try something new! Then the other day while at work I remembered wanting to try that and I mentioned it to Jeremy. I always tell him my crafting plans, the text convo went like this...

Me: "I really need a drill, with little drills"
Him: "What size?"
Me: "Tiny, so I can drill things and then embroider it"
Him: "Ok, I'll get you small drills. And I will stop at home depot tonight and pick you up a lil cordless drill. Not a bulky one like I have. Or do you think I should go to a craft store for a craft drill?"
Me: "Really?!?!"
Him: "Yea?"
Me: "You are the greatest!!!"
Him: "I strive for greatness."
Me: "Well you far exceed it! You spoil me, ya know that?"
Him: "Yup, I spoil out of love."

Heheheeee!! So seriously, he is way too good to me. He changed his mind and decided that we should go together so I could get one I like. Friday night before dinner we went to Home Depot and he got me the cutest little cordless screw gun and attachments for tiny drills. It even came with a little carry pouch and I had the perfect sticker from Erin to put on it!

I haven't drilled anything yet but it is on my to do list this week, I am sooo excited!!

I of course will post pictures of what I make/destroy/turn into swiss cheese in the process!!

Swap-Bot

Most of you know my love of Craftster. I've done a few swaps on there and I really want to start on one of my 2011 Goals for a hoop love wall. There aren't any swaps on Craftster that I want to do at the moment and I really don't think I could organize one myself.
Enter...

A couple weeks ago Courtney posted about joining Swap-Bot. I had looked into this site a few times in the past but never fully understood it, especially after being so used to the way Craftster is set up. I decided to give it another looksy and I found a swap that is just what I'm looking for! Cross Stitch Surprise. There's no theme and you just stitch something up that you think your partner would like. I was lucky that I could get in on this swap since the majority of them you have to already have participated in past swaps and be rated =(
I'm pretty excited and I can't wait to get my partner so I can start brainstorming some ideas!

Have any of you used Swap-bot? What was your experience?

Baked Artichoke Dip

Today at work we are having a "Goodbye Membership" potluck. I've mentioned how our department is closing so the first wave of people are going to the other department next week, hence the potluck. I decided to make Baked Artichoke Dip. It's super duper easy and you can make as much or as little as you want. I decided I would share with all you lovelies!
This recipe is for a normal serving but I doubled everything since there are almost 200 people in our department!

Ingredients:
1 (14 oz.) can of artichoke hearts, Drained and chopped. (You can apparently substitute hearts of palm instead but I have never done that.)
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp hot sauce

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Get all your ingredients together.

I buy the artichoke hearts already quartered but I think they are still a bit too big so after I drain them, I chop them all in half too. I also use real garlic cloves and chopped those bad boys up too.

Combine all the ingredients together in a casserole dish.

*Tip* After mixing everything together, there is bound to be mayo and what not all on the edges of your dish. Wipe it off now. If you don't it will bake on and just kind of look gross.

Bake for 20 mintues at 350 degrees.

Serve with tortilla chips or some bread and enjoy!

Lists 8 & 9

List number 8 is the always fun "What's in your bag?" Mine is full of pretty much all essential stuff for me.

Number 9 is a list of my favorite websites. I could have added blogs but there are just too many!

So those are my lists, I'm all caught up!

On a side note I blew a fuse so all the lights on the one side of my apartment are out. It's really annoying because it is in the living/bedroom, where I always am! The fuse box is in the basement but only the guy in the 1st floor apartment can get into the basement. The landlord was going to email him because apparently he doesn't have a phone, awesome... I really hope he does it today! Ahh the joys of apartment living!
