Granny's Galore!

Are you ready for more squares?! I'm so happy with how fast I hooked these ones up. Again I made another batch of 12 more for a total of 60. I only need 28 more before I can start sewing them all together!! I'll be taking a break from these for a little bit because I am in a Granny Square swap over on Craftster. Send out date is the end of this month so after I sew all the squares I receive from my partners into a little lap afghan for work (they love to keep our office at subzero temperatures) I will get back to this big one. Just in time for summer, ha!

For my new friends, you can see the other batches here.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

My own Buntings!

Hello all, happy hump day!

After making the buntings that I am giving away (still time to enter here!!) I wanted some of my own! I loved where I hung the Christmas Buntings I had made and that wall has looked so blank ever since I took them down.

I wanted to make ones with the same yellow fabric as the ones I'm giving away because I loved it so much! Major bummer though, they didn't have anymore when I went back to Joanns =( I did however find this lovely flower fabric that just screams spring! I also had the perfect dusty rose colored yarn to make the flower accents and found these buttons in my huge stash that looked good too.

And this is their new home!

I'm so happy with them. The way I have the tv stand and little night table (not pictured but it is right at the feet of the lamp on the right) on that wall, nothing really looks good hanging there. It's such an awkward space but having buntings up there really pulls everything together! I think I want to do a "My Apt. Tour" for you guys so you can see how my whole place is set up. It's tiny but I love it and I think I have made it very homey and comfy!

Have a great day!

Jalapeno Popper Dip

I don't remember where I got this recipe but I know it was around the Superbowl that I found it. It sounded so yummy and looked so easy to make. I made it on Sunday for book club and everybody liked it. This recipe made a ton so it would be good for a bigger party or even cut it in half for less people.

Ingredients:
2 (8 oz) packages of cream cheese, softened. I always just use whipped cream cheese.
1 cup Mayo
1 (4 oz) can of chopped green chilies, drained.
1 (4 oz) can of chopped jalapeno peppers, drained.
1/2 cup shredded Mexican style cheese.
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese.

1 cup Panko bread crumbs.
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

So gather everything up! (sorry this is blurry)

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray the dish you will baking in with some non stick stuff, I use Pam.

Combine the cream cheese and mayo. You may need to use an electric mixer to make it smooth. This is exactly why I use the whipped cream cheese, so it just mixes with a spoon by hand!
Stir in the green chilies, jalapeno peppers and Mexican & Mozzarella cheeses.
Spoon this mixture into your prepared baking dish.

In another bowl, combine the break crumbs and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over the top of the cream cheese mixture. Also, spray the top of everything with a quick spray of your non stick spray.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until everything is nice and hot and the topping is lightly browned.
Serve with whatever you like. I used tortilla chips but I'm sure french bread, veggies, crackers, etc. would be delish too!

Enjoy!
