February's Goals

Here's a quick recap on how I did with February's Goals.

* Send the package of crafts I am making for my Valentine's Day Swap partner.
Sent...see here.

* Finish one of the books Liz gave me for Christmas, The Mystery of Grace. Finished. I didn't LOVE it but it was a fast read and the core story was good. It was just full of a lot of unneccesary fluff.

* Start and Finish the Book Club book, The Heretic's Daughter.
Started and I am 3/4 through it. I will finish it by Sunday for our meeting.

* Finish Shannon's Birthday Gift.
I guess I was going to make her something?! I decided against it apparently because I ended up giving her a WLD board and markers of her own. Also, a really pretty picture frame.

* Figure out Jeremy's Birthday Presents.
I gave him a tshirt, a flannel, boxers that I painted little things on and a Clutch cd.

* Figure out what I am going to make/give Shannon for her baby shower.
I made her this baby afghan.

Woohoo!! I did pretty awesome!!

February Goals

Happy February! I have a few goals set for the month and I wanted to share them with you. It's motivation for me to stick to these goals if I share 'em with you lovies!

* Send the package of crafts I am making for my Valentine's Day Swap partner.

* Finish one of the books Liz gave me for Christmas, The Mystery of Grace.

* Start and Finish the Book Club book (my pick!).

* Finish Shannon's Birthday gift.

* Figure out Jeremy's Birthday presents. I'm pretty sure I have it figured out, I just need to write it down and get it finalized.

* Figure out what I am going to make/give Shannon for her baby shower.

HELP: Shannon is my first friend to have a baby. Besides my step sister, Shannon is the first person I've known while pregnant. I just got the invitation to her baby shower and I am debating on what to make/give her. Should I just get something off the registery? Should I make something?! What do I make?! I don't want to be all presumtuous and give her a baby blanket which is my first instinct. I mean what if she has a family member who makes a baby blanket for her?! Can you have too many baby blankets?! I know that Shannon and her husband JP both really appreciate one of a kind, hand made gifts so that's not an issue. Is it rude to get something not on the registry? AHH!! I need your help friends!!

Thank you and here's to an Awesome February!!

August Goals Recap

Holy smokes I can not believe it is September!!!

Finish the zombie book I picked up at the library instead of last months Book Club book.  Here is the Zombie book review.

Read THIS months Book Club book.  I wasn't able to get this months Book Club book from the library again due to too many holds. Picking new, popular books to read for the club sucks because it's always so hard to get from the library.

And try to read another book of my own choosing.  The other book I read I looooved so much and I will be posting a review of it shortly.

Save $$ for North Carolina trip next month.  I saved the money but then our trip was cancelled because of stupid hurrican Irene. I was bummed because I love spending time with my family and we were going to spread my Nana and Grandpa's ashes in the ocean. We already have it planned that we will try again next year. The only bright side is that I am able to pay a couple other bills with that loot instead.

Make something for Mom's Birthday.  I made her this adorable baby dragon.
Send to last Blogger Blanket partner.  Done and Done!

Make at least 3 things for Mystery Project. I was only able to get 2 1/2 things finished by the end of the month.

Even though I didn't get EVERYTHING done, I got more than half so I'm happy!

August Goals

Again...better late than never to post my goals for this month.

Finish the zombie book I picked up at the library instead of last months Book Club book, read THIS months Book Club book and try to read another book of my own choosing.
Save $$ for North Carolina trip next month.
Make something for Mom's Birthday.
Send to last Blogger Blanket partner.
Make at least 3 things for Mystery Project. (I can't tell you guys yet but once I have everything done I will be able to. I am expecting this to take 2 months...Ooooo the anticipation!!)

Have a crafty day kids and let's hope August doesn't fly by as fast as July did. I mean I can't wait for Fall but sheesh...life is going too fast!

July Goals Recap

I know it is already over half way into August but it's still good to reflect on my goals that I achieved last month...

Send to 4 of my Blogger Blanket partners - I actually sent to 5, woot!! That way I wasn't late in sending during the week I was in Florida.

Finish reading The Withes of Eastwick and the new book club book - I finished Witches and if you read my review, you know I hated it!! I never even got to start the new book club book. It is a brand new book and there were over 50 holds on it the entire month at my library (which includes all the surrounding libraries). Since it is brand new and only in hardcover it was too much money for my broke ass. I kind of hate buying books now if I can't get them uber cheap on half.com or Amazon. I did pick up another book at the library though that I just about finished.

Make something for Jessie's Birthday - I made this sweet spoon necklace.

Save more $$ for Florida - I was able to save my goal amount for the whole trip which I'm pretty proud of!!

Figure out what we're doing about Florida (getting there, do while we're there, etc.) - We figured it all out and had an AMAZING vacation, I will be doing a whole separate post just for it!

July was pretty freaking productive in my book!

June Goals Recap

Finish Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and the new Book Club book.
Send out Craftster Monster Ninni Swap package.
Plant tomatoes in my topsy turvy! (better late than never)
Save another $100 for FL
Cook more MEALS for dinner.

For June I did pretty good on my goals, only 2 things I wasn't able to accomplish.
Since I went to Renegade and bought a few things, then went to the Allergist and had a bunch of meds to buy I wasn't able to save more money for Florida.
I also didn't plant any tomatoes which I'm pretty bummed about. I don't know if it's too late to plant them now, I need to look into that. I loved having my own tomatoes last year and really would have liked to have them again this summer.

Other than those two things I did everything else, read both books, sent to my Ninni swap partner and cooked actual meals for myself a lot more frequently!
I can't even believe it's freaking July already!!

Have a lovely day friends!

May Goals Recap

I'm pretty satisfied with everything I got accomplished this month!

I really need to get better at cooking myself meals. I go through spurts where I will cook lots of awesome meals but right now I am in a total rut. I think it might have something to do with the swaps. All I wanted to do when I got home was work on these projects. Cooking seemed like such a waste of time. I've just been eating lots of pasta, soup, mac & cheese, nothing exciting. Do you have any awesome easy and cheap recipes? Or do you follow any foodie blogs? I think I only follow one but it's all desserts, I need more meals!

Also, May freaking FLEW by!!

March Goals

I've been in a funk the last week or so. I don't know what it is but I have zero motivation to do anything. All I think of is everything I want/need to do which then stresses me out...and leads to more funk (and not the fun Earth, Wind and Fire kind of funk. No, this is more like that gross toe jam kind of funk.) So last night I sat down and made a list, are you surprised? I'm sure you recall a few mentions I've made about my affinity for lists. I think this is something I may do monthly now since I was already thinking of things I need/want to do in April!

March Goals
Paint Lindsay's Piggy Bank
Dye Curtains
Clean out 3 dresser drawers
Clean out/organize the closet
Clean under craft table
Try 2 new recipes
Finish next Book Club book
Fix Car!!!
Workout 4 hours a week
Get a plant for my apartment
Save $100 for Florida

So that's them. I can't decide if it's a lot or not but whatevs. I am going to try my best to complete them all in the 3 1/2 weeks left this month.
